Mr. Morteza Tavadjoh, the founder of Mirab Industrial Group ( Limited) started his business in 1981 in a rented workshop covering an area of 350 m around Azari Square under the name of Forminkar.
The activity of Forminkar started with design and manufacture of all models of industrial parts (molding of casting industry) such as cylinder jacket of locomotives of railway, cylinder jacket for railway locomotives, cylinder jackets for Derman Diesel engines, cast iron parts for all kinds of centrifuge pumps, pivotal and floating flow, the cast iron part for the exhaust of all kinds of vehicles and all kinds of sensitive parts needed for automotive industry and other industries.
From 1982, the casting unit with rotating gasoline furnaces were built to expand the work area and render better service to customers.
Since based on the law all businesses which develop from workshop to factory, should be at least 120 km away from big cities, to support Forminkar Workshop, the Heavy Industry Minister of the time, suggested continuation of activity of this company in Tehran in the council of ministers and due to the special importance and the priority of activity of this company, as an exception it was allowed to continue its industrial activity.
Long-term goal setting
Before the Islamic Revolution all studies showed that production of industrial valves needed for irrigation of the country, like many other products , was dependent on non-Iranian manufacturers and they were all imported. After that, during the Imposed War and the West forced sanctions, with the politics turning towards reducing dependency of the country and development of irrigation network, the founder of this industrial group too decided , based on the experience gained in modeling , casting and machining of parts and increasing of the equipment, the company concentrated on its long-term goal setting which was manufacture of industrial valves needed for water and sewage industry and entered this important sector of industry.
Connection with Water Industry
Forminkar Company under the new name Mirab, showed its determination for cooperation with water and waste water industry in Iran and maintain its cooperation with well-known valve-manufacturing companies in the world and gaining experience from them, it started producing the first series of butterfly valves with desired quality, based on international standards.
In the coming years, since the results of field surveys showed that use of intelligent equipment in water industry would improve the utilization of the infrastructure of the industry and increase the quality of the valves, Mirab started contacting the big names in automation industry across the world and took another successful step in this road. By providing modern electric actuators made by the big industrial group, AUMA in Germany. Hydraulic actuators with equipment made by German Company, HAWE and Rexorth and air actuators made by Festo Germany rendered another service to Iran’s water industry.
Cooperation with Other Industries
The application of Mirab products has been very effective in parts of oil, gas and petrochemical industries of the country and this facility has had spectacular cooperation with many companies affiliated with Ministry of Oil, among them we can refer to manufacture of special valves for sea salty water for water gathering part of Asaluyeh Refinery in Phases 1,2,3 in years 1996 and other phases in later years .
Today Mirab with over 4 decades history of presence in valve manufacturing industry and acquiring international quality certificates from Lloyd Register England and DVGW Germany ( Being renewed) and also IMS certificate including OHSAS 18001:2007 2015, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 2015 from TÜVNORD company in Germany, provides added peace of mind for its customers.
Through having international valid certificates Mirab has been able to attract customers from across the borders and by reversing the direction from import to export, a major portion of its products are being exported to countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and South America. This makes up something about 20 to 50 percent of Mirab’s annual production capacity.
In 2007, because of the increase of production capacity, this company bought a piece of land covering an area of 200,000 sqm in Shams Abad industrial complex and started phase one of its development plan. From April 2011, all units, except lab and casting were transferred to this site.
Around 550 people are currently working in the group and also a spectacular number of personnel, cooperate with our company just to render services for different production lines based on Mirab orders in their own units.
Currently Mirab has 5 different sites covering an area of 225000 square meters and 50000 sqm building, with over 550 employees and is active in 8 business subgroups and 65 production groups and 8580 types of different industrial valves and related equipment for different applications. The site is made up of following units:
Mirab, in its second phase of development plan, has dedicated an area covering 50,000 sqm to build the new casting unit in Shams Abad site. About 20,000 sqm of it is dedicated to production, warehouse , administration and miscellaneous halls and it will increase casting capacity of Mirab up to 15,000 ton annually. All types of cast iron and carbon steel and stainless steel and all types of alloys of colored metals especially nickel-aluminum-bronze for valves and equipment suitable for salty seawater is produced.
