The Ghadir water supply plan of Khuzestan was proposed since 2008 with the primary goal of supplying water to the cities of Abadan, Khorramshahr and Shadgan, and after some time it was decided to add a few more cities to the total number of cities benefiting from the Ghadir plan, but it was not completed during these years.
During the ceremony, which was held in the presence of the president, the minister of energy, the officials of Khuzestan province, the managers of the Khatam-ul-Anbiya (PBUH) construction camp, the Khuzestan water and electricity organization and a group of company managers who participated in the project, including the CEO of Mirab company, Mr. Ghadir water supply project was opened with the aim of creating the necessary infrastructure to transfer drinking water to 26 cities of Khuzestan province, including Ahvaz, Abadan, Khorramshahr, Shadegan, Dezful and Andimshek, and about 1,608 villages in the province.
The water transferred from behind the Dez Dam is of a higher quality than the previous water of these cities and its quality is estimated at 500 EC, and with the opening of this project, the people of Khuzestan will enjoy higher quality water.
Ghadir water supply project is divided into three short-term, medium-term and long-term priorities due to the need for large-scale investment and numerous water quality and quantity problems for more than half of the people of the province in order to fit the investment in line with the plan approved temporarily until the completion of the project (water harvesting From Dez Dam, people can benefit from better quality and quantity of water compared to their current situation.
The first and second phases of this project include water supply to the cities of Khorramshahr, Abadan and Shadgan for a total of 487 million cubic meters, as well as water supply to Ahvaz and Dasht Azadegan for a total of 427 million cubic meters during the past years.
The third phase, with the aim of supplying and transferring water from Dez Reservoir Dam to some of the cities covered by the plan, was put into operation with the implementation of the remaining works and connection to the first and second priority, and all 10 pumps of the w2 pumping station are ready to supply water to the people of Khuzestan.
Mirab company is proud that the responsibility of supplying the valves for the third phase of the project was entrusted to this company, as in the previous two phases, fortunately, with the efforts, round-the-clock efforts, the required valves were produced in the shortest possible time for installation and use in the mentioned project. submited . In this project, all types of needle valves, control valves, butterfly valves and fittings in different sizes and pressures have been used in the three phases.
